Kochi / Backwaters Cruise commence
By noon: Check-in at Thottappalli village. We start sailing through the Thottappalli Lake, viewing closely the greenery and the life along both sides. The Spillway in this region splits the lake with the fresh water part to the east and saline Thottappalli river mouth to the west merging with the Arabian Sea. The spillway is constructed to spill into the sea the excess water coming over the low lying paddy fields through three major rivers from the hills. Lunch onboard.
At the time of serving lunch the boat will be anchored.
By evening arrive at a small village Kanjippadam. A walk through the village, watching the rural life, meeting people engaged in coir rope making, duck farming, taking a canoe ride through narrow canals exploring the interiors of the backwater region, trying a hand at fishing are enlightening experiences of the lifetime...Return to the boat.
